The guys spoke about going to try E-Foil boards, and Will got very excited about the connection between the hydrofoils and surfboard fins.

Ru spoke about the Firewire Gamma surfboards that we now have at the resort.

Will and Jessie went to stay with Asher in San Clemente and also got married!!!

Ru spoke about learning to play the bass guitar in the staff band “Neighbours from Hell” and mentioned our video editor Jose Sibaja who also plays in the band Pneuma.

MAIN FEATURE: How to Film yourself

Harry walked us all through his thoughts on how to get video footage of yourself. In doing so, Ru mentioned this wave that Will caught a few weeks ago while teaching at Playa Guiones.

For equipment, we spoke about GoPro cameras and other action cameras as a starting point. Ru also mentioned the benefits of getting some swim fins and going out to shoot photos.

Next step was to get a Camcorder. Harry mentioned these Panasonic V180K Camcorders that we used to use on the beach.

The cameras we now use at Surf Simply are Canon SX60 “Bridge” Cameras, which are more expensive but produce much higher quality footage.

Lastly, Harry spoke about the SoloShot robot camera.

He mentioned the importance of getting a good tripod for your camera and a good waterproof case.

We spoke to Matt Warshaw and Mark Augias about the updates to the Encylopedia of Surfing.

Matt mentioned the Fretboard Journal after Harry heard him on their podcast.

WHAT TO WATCH:

Jessie chose this video on the Physics of Surfing from Ted-Ed. It's a nice cartoon video that explains the physics behind surfing.

Will picked Creative Kin from Surfer Magazine. Interesting boards, interesting surfing.
